Handle unsaved content

Avoid losing edits when leaving or switching assistants.

Who this is for

Administrator of the selected web assistant; content and publication are isolated by assistant.

Before you start

Sign in as the account administrator and select the correct assistant. Available actions depend on its permissions and state.

Steps

  1. Edit Information or, for a web assistant, Appearance.
  2. For web assistants, move between Information and Appearance while preserving edits. Leaving that pair for another task, section or assistant asks what to do with pending changes.
  3. Choose save and continue, discard, or keep editing.

Result

Confirmed changes belong to the original assistant.

Limits and conditions

Source operations are confirmed separately: adding or updating authorizes preparation and use without another approval. Leaving the browser uses its native prompt. A save failure prevents completing navigation.

If you cannot continue

If an operation is not confirmed, keep your input and review the error. After a conflict, reload the current version and review before retrying. An unavailable control does not mean the feature is active.
